The rainbow lorikeet is just a beautiful, colourful bird. They are quite common in Sydney, and can even be found in the very busy parts of the city provided that the right trees are around.

These birds are gregarious and generally travel in pairs. At dusk, many join together to form a large group (hundreds or even thousands), where they fly from tree to tree and make a lot of noise.

Rainbow lorikeets usually are not too afraid of humans and can sometimes be hand fed. They like sweet foods.
