Spotted pardalotes are small birds that are generally found in the bush. The spots on its head distinguish it from many other birds that are otherwise similar in appearance.

In the winter time, these birds are often foraging in flocks of a dozen or two. Occasionally, they are joined by other birds like eastern thornbills.
